What is the Apple T2 Chipset? It is a chip that processes audio, image and input as well as output. In addition, fingerprint recognition is processed by the T2 chipset. Over the course of the past week, there have been many devices where the T2 chipset is faulty and hence these Macbooks, the Macbook Retina A1990 and Mac Mini 2018 cannot be turned on.

HOW TO CHANGE A T2 CONTROLLER CHIPSET:

1. Remove the glue on all sides and put sufficient flux.
2. Use heat gun to loosen the leg of the chipset and remove it slowly. Then, clean up the excess solder on the logicboard.
3. Buy T2 chipset with solder attached to it and then align Pin 1 to the logicboard. Use pinset to hold the T2 chipset in place and then use the heat gun to stick it in place firmly.

In the future, Apple plans to integrate LCD controller to upgrade the T2, which may then be called T3. Will this give us more issues?
